Dumpster Rental FAQ
What is a roll-off dumpster and why do I need it?
Unlike the permanent dumpsters you see at commercial and industrial locations, a roll-off dumpster is designed for temporary use. We roll the dumpster on and off our trucks during delivery and pick up. Roll-off dumpsters are used to collect and dispose of household, construction, and/or demolition debris. Once you fill your roll-off dumpster up, we haul the debris away for recycling or disposal in a landfill.
Can TKG deliver a roll-off dumpster to my driveway?
This depends on the roads leading to your house and the driveway itself. As long as our drivers can navigate all of the streets to your house and back in to your driveway, we can deliver a dumpster to your home. We suggest measuring the length and width of your driveway and advising us of any low hanging wires on the property.
How do I determine the right size roll-off dumpster for my application?
Visit our residential roll-off dumpster and construction roll-off dumpster pages to determine the best option to meet your needs and budget.
How much debris can I put in a roll-off dumpster?
The short answer is that you can place as much material in the dumpster as you wish as long as you don’t exceed the container’s rim. That said, a dumpster full of concrete will weigh more than a dumpster full of household items or lawn waste. Each dumpster also has a specified weight limit, and if you exceed the allowable tonnage, you will be charged accordingly. Your best option is to call and explain your cleanup project and we’ll make sure you get the right size and avoid exceeding tonnage limits.
What kinds of materials are not allowed in my dumpster?
As a rule of thumb, if your local trash hauler won’t take it from your curb, chances are good it can’t go into our dumpsters either. We do not accept hazardous waste or highly flammable materials such as asbestos, paint, chemicals, oil, tires, car batteries, or fluorescent light bulbs. When in doubt, give us a call and we’ll let you know if we can accept a type of material not already listed above.
How fast can I get a dumpster?
We try and service within 24 hours, but the best way to guaranty a specific day is to call several days in advance.
When will my dumpster arrive?
At TKG, we do our best deliver at a time most convenient for you. We normally give our customers a 3-4 hour delivery window.
Do I need to be at home or on the job site when the dumpster arrives?
You don’t need to be home or on the job site if we have clear delivery instructions. Our dispatcher can pass along any special instructors to the driver making the dumpster delivery.
Is there a limit to how long I can keep my roll-off dumpster?
We understand that folks don’t always know how long a cleanup project will take. Our standard rates to rent a commercial roll off dumpster or rent a residential dumpster include 7 days from time of drop off. You may keep your dumpster for as long as you like, but remember, extra charges apply for rentals kept longer than 7 days. Please call for more information if you think you may need to extend your rental.
Do I need to schedule a pick up when I am finished with my dumpster?
We don’t want to take a dumpster away when it is still in use! Your best bet is to give us a 24-hour notice when you are finishing up and we can pick up your dumpster on the next business day. Depending on the availability of drivers, we can also perform same day pick-ups.
How do you dispose of the material in my roll-off dumpster after pick-up?
TKG operates a construction and demolition recycling facility so wood, metal, bricks, cardboard, etc. metal, cardboard, wood, concrete, bricks, etc. are sorted by our green team and then re-purposed for further use. Any remaining non-recyclable material is shipped for disposal in a licensed landfill.
What does my flat rate dumpster quote include?
That means delivery, haul, and disposal up to an agreed upon tonnage limit.
How do I pay for my roll-off dumpster?
At TKG, we want to make roll-off dumpster rental easy, convenient, and affordable. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards, with payment due upon delivery. You can also pay by phone with your credit card prior to delivery.
